‘Frustrated’ youth sentenced to one year for robbing Cuban

After admitting to robbing a Cuban national out of frustration, a young man was yesterday sentenced to a year in prison for the crime.

Storm Anthony Clarke was taken before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly to answer to a charge of armed robbery.

The charge states that Clarke, on August 22nd, at Lance Gibbs Street, Queenstown, while armed with an icepick, robbed Emanuel Santana of a wallet, two Cuban identification cards, a driver’s licence, $12,240 and US$2 (equivalent to GY$400).
