(Trinidad Guardian) Police are trying to determine a motive for the killing of a Carenage man which occurred early yesterday morning.
The victim was identified as Akeil Mitchell of Resurrection Hill, Upper Haig Street.
According to a police report, the shooting occurred at Haig Street shortly after 6 am.
Mitchell was walking along the road when a gunman walked up to him and shot him several times.
The gunman then fled the scene. Mitchell died while receiving treatment at the St James Infirmary.
Police are yet to determine a concrete motive for the killing but strongly believe it could be as a result of the ongoing gang war in the area.
