Trinidad: Carenage man murdered

(Trinidad Guardian) Po­lice are try­ing to de­ter­mine a mo­tive for the killing of a Care­nage man which oc­curred ear­ly yesterday morn­ing.

The vic­tim was iden­ti­fied as Akeil Mitchell of Res­ur­rec­tion Hill, Up­per Haig Street.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, the shoot­ing oc­curred at Haig Street short­ly af­ter 6 am.

Mitchell was walk­ing along the road when a gun­man walked up to him and shot him sev­er­al times.

The gun­man then fled the scene. Mitchell died while re­ceiv­ing treat­ment at the St James In­fir­mary.

Po­lice are yet to de­ter­mine a con­crete mo­tive for the killing but strong­ly be­lieve it could be as a re­sult of the on­go­ing gang war in the area.
