Doctor Joann Deo got back to winning ways when she stormed to the A&R Printery Golf title at the Lusignan Golf Club on Saturday while Patrick Persaud secured the top spot yesterday when the tournament was sponsored once again.
Battling just over two dozen golfers with the green mostly dry apart from a few damp spots, Deo copped the ‘A’ Flight category (handicap 0-14) with gross 90 and net 76 (90/76) forcing Club President, Aleem Hussain to settle for second with 85/76 and William Walker third with 90/78.
Deo said that it was a good feeling to be back at the top and credited her strength training over the past months to her success, indicating that she has been getting more distance from her strokes.
In the ‘B’ Flight, (handicap 15-36) Shonella London took the top honours with 89/74. She was trailed by Kalyan Tiwari (91/75) and Patanjalee ‘Pur’ Persaud (92/76) in second and third respectively.
Yesterday, Persaud returned 80/71 while Hussain, who had the longest drive, again settled for second with 87/78 and Deo, third with 96/82 in the ‘A’ Flight.
Danny Mangra won the ‘B’ Flight with 93/72 while B. Harry secured second with 91/75 as Marlon Loncke came in third with 92/77.
Munaf Arjune walked away with the longest drive.
