(Trinidad Guardian) Two murders have been recorded in the past 15 hours in Chaguanas and Maloney.
A woman was also shot and wounded in St Margaret’s Village, Claxton Bay.
In Maloney, at about 6.30 am on Thursday Daniel “Pitchman” Herrera was found at Semp Avenue in Maloney. He was fatally shot several times. Police officers are currently on the scene.
In Chaguanas, Russel Chaitram, 24, of Enterprise was at the corner of Joyce and Perseverence Roads in Chandanagore Village, Chaguanas at about 7.39 pm when he was ambushed by two gunmen and shot several times.
He was taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility by police officers however he died while undergoing treatment.
Police said Chaitram was shot in the chest, groin, wrist and buttocks.
In the unrelated shooting incident in South, a woman from Claxton Bay is currently warded in a critical condition at the San Fernando General Hospital nursing gunshot wounds.
Police said residents of Trainline Street, St Margaret’s Village, at about 7 pm on Wednesday, after hearing a spate of gunshots in the area found the woman bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds about her body.
