A 35-year-old dredge owner and his wife were allegedly set on fire while they were asleep on Thursday morning, following a confrontation with a man at their camp at Toroparu Landing, in Region Seven.
Injured are Lyndon Joseph, 35, of Karrau Village, in Region Seven and Jangotown, Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara, and his wife Maria Pereira Da Silva, 30, a Brazilian national.
They were both rushed to the Bartica Hospital and subsequently medevaced to the city, where they were admitted at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH). They are both said to be critical.
