After being without electricity for almost two weeks, the township of Mabaruma has seen power partially restored and the community awaits the restoration of full power when the main 750 kVA generator is repaired.
Regional Chairman Brentnol Ashley yesterday told Stabroek News that the small generator was repaired two days ago and residents have since been receiving electricity at intervals. He indicated that there has been no communication between him and the Regional Executive Officer Randolph Storm on when the 750 kVA generator will be repaired.
Ashley explained that some communities receive electricity from 5 to 8 pm, while another set receives from 8 to 11 pm, a system that was used previously.
