Two gunmen last evening grabbed a bag from a salesman’s car which was located in front of a supermarket in New Amsterdam.
According to information gathered, the masked men attacked around 8 pm.
Stabroek News was told, that the men were seen approaching the supermarket, Bob & Sons Variety Store, which is located at Strand and Chapel streets, New Amsterdam. Several staff members were at the time standing outside of the supermarket while others were inside balancing off the day’s sales.
According to information gathered, the supermarket was closed at the time.
The gunmen approached the area, fired a shot and ordered everyone to lie on the ground with their faces down. They then broke a window of the car and retrieved a bag.

The men after grabbing the bag then made good their escape further down the waterside.
The police were immediately summoned to the scene and an investigation was launched. What appeared to be blood was noticed on the car’s broken window, a police source told this newspaper last evening.
