Harricharan Ramsundar was found hanging from a tree hours after he chopped his wife to death in their Siparia home yesterday morning.
The body of Ramsundar, 45, was discovered in a forested area located several kilometres away from his house at Phulo Drive, La Brea Trace.
The discovery was made with the assistance of a drone by officers of the Siparia CID and South Western Unit who launched a manhunt for the suspect.
The father of two was last seen around 7 a.m. walking into the bushes carrying a length of rope and a cutlass.
Neighbouring relatives found the body of his wife, Neisha Cyleane Sankar, with a chop wound to the neck and her arm almost severed in the couple’s house.
Sankar had spent the weekend with her relatives, but returned yesterday morning to prepare their eight year old son for school, and for her to go to her workplace at Republic Bank in Siparia.
Sankar was ambushed by Ramsundar, a landscaper, as she entered the house around 6.45 a.m.
Police said they were told that the Ramsundar had accused his wife of being unfaithful to him.
