Tenders were yesterday opened at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board for the rehabilitation of the Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) distribution Network at the Guyana Power & Light (GPL) with the highest bid received being over $3.7B. The majority of the companies bidding were foreign companies with three of the six bids coming from Chinese companies.
Bids were also received for the feasibility study, design and construction supervision for the rehabilitation of the Charity Market Wharf located in Region 2.
