A man was yesterday sentenced to three months behind bars for spitting on a woman who insulted him.
Gary Prince learnt his fate yesterday after Magistrate Dylon Bess handed down the sentence.
The charge against him alleged that on April 27th, at Breda Street, Georgetown, he unlawfully assaulted Leonie Thornton. On the day in question, Prince was riding past the complainant when she uttered “Gwan ya dawg!” As a result, he spat on her.
At the conclusion of his trial yesterday, Prince was a no show, and was sentenced in his absence to three months in jail for the crime.
He later came to court and was arrested and taken into custody to commence serving his sentence.
