Grove construction worker Travis Garrett, who was accused of chopping his neighbour with a cutlass, yesterday had the attempted murder charge against him dismissed after his victim accepted compensation.
It was alleged that Garrett chopped Ramchan Chunnilall on July 24th, at Grove, East Bank Deme-rara, with intent to commit murder.
When the case was called before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan yesterday, Police Prosecutor Neville Jeffers told the court that statements in the matter were ready. How-ever, he noted that Chunnilall no longer wished to proceed with the criminal complaint.
