The Ministry of Public Infrastructure has suffered over $2.5 million in losses after 28 Traffic Light Battery Units were stolen and the cabinets housing them vandalised.

A notice posted on the ministry’s Facebook page said the vandalism and thefts took place within George-town. It added that a police investigation is underway.

The Ministry of Public Infrastructure appeal-ed to citizens to refrain from destroying much needed infrastructure within the city, the notice said. It also asked members of the public to report any act of theft or vandalism to the nearest police station or the Ministry’s Public Relations Department on telephone number 227-0799 or via the ministry’s Facebook page.
