A melee between two cousins yesterday afternoon resulted in one person being hospitalised and the other in police custody.
Stabroek News was told that the cousins who are juveniles, had a disagreement which led to a fight on Graham Street, Plaisance, East Coast Demerara. The commotion occurred sometime after 4 pm yesterday.
As a result, one was stabbed about his body and is currently hospitalised at the Georgetown Public Hospital. His condition is unknown.
An eyewitness told Stabroek News that they saw the commotion and upon enquiring they learnt that one of the boys had been stabbed.
It is unclear what triggered the stabbing, the eyewitness said. Stabroek News was told that the victim was visiting the suspect.
Family members were tightlipped on what transpired when this newspaper visited.
Police investigations are continuing.
