Several persons escaped unhurt on Wednesday night following an accident involving a minibus and a motor lorry along the Ogle, East Coast Demerara Public Road.
Reports are that the accident occurred around 8.45 pm.
Details surrounding the accident remains unclear. However, a passenger of the Route 44 minibus (Georgetown/Mahaica) related to Stabroek News that at the time of the accident the minibus, which was loaded with passengers was proceeding at a fast rate of speed.
Both vehicles were heading in the said direction. The minibus was destined for Mahaica.
The motor lorry came to a halt on the median which separates the two lanes of the road while the minibus was partially in a trench. Nearby residents recalled hearing a loud impact. Upon checking they said, they learnt of the accident.
No injuries were reported.
The police were summoned.
