Briton John has a bullseye on his back and the country’s top wheelsmen will be hunting him this Sunday when the 17th Victor Macedo Memorial cycling race pedals off.

John has been the outstanding cyclist recently winning back-to-back races last weekend and he will no doubt be looking to make it three wins in a row.

He first dominated the inaugural Triskit Biscuit feature 35-lap event on Saturday before storming to victory the next day in the Rose Hall Town Day 37-mile road race.

According to organizer and Flying Stars representative, William Howard, the route has been changed this year with the riders using the outer circuit of the National Park for a 30-lap race which is equivalent to 74.56 miles.

The race, which commences at 7.30am, will see the riders beginning on Vlissengen Road a stone’s throw before the Guyana Defence Force entrance, head north before turning into Carifesta Avenue. They will then head West before turning into Camp Street. They will then turn left into Thomas Lands, head east and turn into Vlissengen Road to complete a lap.
