Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) Chair Justice (Ret’d) Claudette Singh has indicated that she informed President David Granger that GECOM would be ready to hold General and Regional Elections by the end of February, 2020, opposition-nominated commissioner Sase Gunraj said today.
In a letter to President Granger, seen by Stabroek News, Justice Singh wrote, “Given all the objective factors, in addition to deliberations of the Commission and my most recent consultations with our Secretariat, I have concluded, and take this opportunity to officially inform you, that the Guyana Elections Commission will be able to deliver credible elections by the end of February 2020.”
