The name Carwyn Holland is synonymous with quite a few gestures. The former Linden Town Mayor, journalist and award winning boxing promoter recently donated a quantity of training gear to one of Guyana’s brightest boxing prospects Keevin Allicock.
The gesture is geared towards encouraging the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games silver medallist to continue trading blows in the ring in an effort to qualify for and represent Guyana at the 2020 Olympics.
Holland is also calling on corporate Guyana to support Allicock in his efforts to bring glory to Guyana.
Allicock, who is Guyana’s top amateur boxing prospect, in his next assignment, will headline the amateur segment of the ‘Not In My House’ Pro/Am card scheduled for September 28 at D’Urban Park.
The light welterweight brawler recently participated in the World Championships in Russia where he lost a split decision in his opening bout to Finland’s Arsian Khataev.
