The full slate of the names of the amateur boxers on the ‘Not In My House’ Pro/Am card has been released by the Guyana Boxing Association.
According to President of the GBA, Steve Ninvalle, Keevin Allicock will headline that part of card scheduled for Saturday at D’Urban Park.
The 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games silver medallist is down to match gloves with Trinidad and Tobago’s best featherweight, Anthony Joseph.
According to the organizers, the event is geared towards showcasing the best pugilists in Guyana and it is only fitting that Allicock, fresh off outings at the Pan American Games in Peru and the World Championships in Russia showcases his talent locally.
The amateur segment reads: Allicock versus Joseph, Tyron Blair versus Jamal Pompey (heavyweight), Jamal Eastman versus Jeffrey Joseph (lightweight) and Colin Lewis versus Emmanuel Sancho (welterweight).
Meanwhile, after more than 45 rounds of fistic action, the main event of the night will see Dexter ‘The Kid’ Marques lacing it up against the dangerous Colombian fighter Jose Antonio Jimenez.
The undercard features, James Moore and James Walcott in a six-round light heavyweight encounter, Edmond ‘Wonder Boy’ DeClou matching gloves with Kwesi Jones in a catchweight encounter. Joel Williamson taking on Keeve Allicock in a four-round super lightweight scrap, Anson Green against the USA’s Raymond Wilburg (four rounds) and debutant, Pearline Lochan facing Sharon Warde (four rounds).
And then all that action will be followed by an epic HJ Entertainment/Guyana Carnival music festival.
Saturday’s card is being promoted by NexGen Global Marketing/Caribbean KnockOuts and HJ Entertainment along with New Trend Auto, NCN and Cloud 9.
The event is scheduled to be transmitted live locally on NCN and streamed to the rest of the world to see what Guyana has to offer. Top Guyanese born chef, Bernard James is returning from Los Angeles, California, USA to serve up special cuisine at the event that is expected to attract more than 12,000 patrons.
