Mahdia, Sunday, defeated Region One by 10 wickets for championship honours in the 2019 Heritage Games tapeball tournament held at the Everest Cricket Club ground.
The final saw Mahdia winning the toss and inserting their Region One counterparts who only managed 85 for five from their allotted overs. Michael Sutton (40) led his side’s batting effort as tapball maestro Ershaad Ali (2-14) ended as the pick of the bowlers.
Ali returned with the bat to blast an unbeaten 47 to guide his side to the 10-wicket victory as his opening partner Andrew Gibson (35) gave valuable support as Mahdia reached 91 without loss in the fifth over.
