Following his Courts 10k win on September 15, Winston Missigher took his talents to Trinidad and earned a podium spot in the 20th annual Venture Credit Union 5K Run on Sunday.
Missigher finished third overall after clocking a career best 15:17 in the 5K event despite the inclement weather.
Sherwin Stapleton of Trinidad won the race in 14:54.
“It was a very fast race, I ran third overall and it was a best time for me so I am glad about that even though I didn’t win,” said Missigher yesterday.
Guyana’s other representatives, Cleveland Thomas finished sixth overall, while on the distaff side, and Kissanna Glen was fifth overall.
Missigher said his sights are now set on competing at the ‘Joint Services’ and the first leg of the South American 10k in early October.
