Exciting lightweight prospect, Joel Williamson will be aiming to shine under the bright lights when he matches gloves with Albouystown brawler, Keeve Allicock on the ‘Not In My House’ card at D’Urban Park on Saturday night.

The popular pugilist from Berbice has been handed a golden opportunity to showcase his skills at the eagerly anticipated boxing event.

The card, which is promoted by NexGen Global Marketing/Caribbean KnockOuts and HJ Entertainment along with New Trend Auto, NCN and Cloud 9, offers young boxing prospects the chance to perform in front of the flashing cameras and gain valuable experience before progressing onto even bigger televised events.

In just his second career pro fight, the hard hitting southpaw said there are butterflies but he is going to relish the opportunity to put on a show.

“It feels special, I’ll be fighting in front of my fans and family,” he said.

“It’s a special moment, I will be a bit nervous but I know what I’ve got to do. I don’t think he will go the distance,” he added. The 2016 Caribbean Senior Championships gold medalist will be tested over four rounds against a game Allicock.

“I’m feeling great, I’m not worried about him, I’m training hard to win easy,” boasted Williamson.

The 22 year-old has earned a huge fan base from his stellar amateur career with his exciting style of fighting.

Come Saturday, he will look to put on a show for the fans like he last did in his debut professional bout when he earned a unanimous decision verdict versus Anson Green last September.

However, Allicock is no slouch with the gloves and will also be looking forward to getting back in the winner’s circle following back to back defeats at the hands of Anthony Nardine and Imran Khan.

An all-out brawl should be on the cards.

Meanwhile, the knockout night of boxing will be headlined by the flashy Dexter ‘The Kid’ Marques lacing it up against the dangerous Colombian fighter Jose Antonio Jimenez.

The undercard features, James Moore and James Walcott in a six-round light heavyweight encounter, Edmond ‘Wonder Boy’ DeClou matching gloves with Kwesi Jones in a catch weight encounter. Anson Green against the USA’s Raymond Wilburg (four rounds) and debutant, Pearline Lochan facing Sharon Warde (four rounds).

Before that, the amateurs will put on a show. The full slate for the amateur segment reads: Keevin Allicock versus Anthony Joseph, Tyron Blair versus Jamal Pompey (heavyweight), Jamal Eastman versus Jeffrey Joseph (lightweight) and Colin Lewis versus Emmanuel Sancho (welterweight).

And then all that action will be followed by an epic HJ Entertainment/Guyana Carnival music festival. See you there.
