A father of eight, who was allegedly found with marijuana in a milk tin, was granted bail when he appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Troy Grant, 43, pleaded not guilty to the charge of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking when he appeared before Principal Magistrate Faith McGusty. It is alleged that on September 21st at Hardina Street, Georgetown, he had in his possession 156 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.
Grant was represented by attorney Patrice Henry who told the court that his client is a father of eight, has an unblemished record and no pending matters at any court. He also said that when Grant was arrested, he was at his workplace and police ranks who were in the area, approached him and conducted a search on him. Henry said that according to his client, the alleged narcotics were found in a bin along with other items. He said that the items were not found on his client.
