“They took from me what I didn’t even have,” were the words of a tearful Carole Chester, moments after she was freed of a charge of obtaining almost $1 million by falsely pretense.
Chester, 50, was on trial before Magistrate Rhondel Weever in Georgetown on the charge that she, between August 1st and September 30th, 2018, at Georgetown, obtained $960,000 from Rayan Ferrier by falsely pretending she was in a position to obtain a house lot for him, knowing same to be false.
