GCC hockey clubs Bingo GCC Spartans and GCC Pitbulls are favored to retain their under-20 crowns as the 2019 Bounty Paper Towel – Quicker Picker Upper, Solo Drinks outdoor hockey leagues head for a close.
Spartans who are points leaders in the Under – 20 girls division, with 15 points from five outings, will aim to place a firm grip on the title when they complete their final match today against second-place Saints who are three points adrift.
That match will be contested at the usual battle soil at the Saint Stanislaus College Ground.
Pitbulls male U20 team, on the other hand, who sit atop the points table and like Spartans are the defending U20 champs, will take on YMCA Old Fort Ballers who are on 13 points, a six-point differential from the leaders.
A number of matches in the second division league are also slated for the weekend are the development tournament winds down.
