Bingo GCC Spartans yesterday retained their under-20 crown when the 2019 Solo Drinks outdoor hockey leagues ended at the Saint Stanislaus College Ground.
Spartans, who played unbeaten and did concede a goal, took out second place Saints 3-0 in their final match to clinch another well-deserved crown.
The goals in the final match came off the sticks of Abosaide Cadogan, Paige Fernandes and Madison Fernandes.
Fernandes ended with the most goals of the tournament while also copping the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.
Donyale Nurse of Saints was adjudged the tournament’s best goalkeeper.
Meanwhile, the boys under – 20 action which wraps up today, saw SHC Samurai receiving a walkover from Old Fort Generals while Old Fort Ballerz hammered SHC Storm 6-0 on the back of hat trick from
Shaquon Favourite while Steffon Simmons netted a brace.
The male second division tournament saw SHC Savages dishing out a 6-1 drubbing of Old Fort Rusty while SHC Shockwaves defeated Old Fort Aces 4-0. The final match of the day ended 3-2 in Bounty GCC’s favour over Hikers Cadets.
