Defending champs St Pius humbles Smith Memorial 9-1

Defending champions St. Pius, Soesdyke, North Georgetown and Timehri recorded emphatic wins when the 2019 edition of the Courts Pee Wee U11 football competition continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

St. Pius humbled Smith Memorial 9-1. Jamal Fraser was the architect of the lopsided result with six goals in the first, 19th, 22nd, 29th, 34th and 36th minute.

Assisting were Jamal Jones, Nikoloi Watson and Teoy Macey in the 13th, 25th and 31st minute respectively.

On target in the loss was Japhett Sampson in the fourth minute.

Similarly, Soesdyke brushed aside St Margaret’s 7-0. Jaden Tasha led the rout with a hat-trick in the 13th, 15th and 23rd minute.

Contributing a double was Jermin Mitchell in the 21st and 25th minute while Ezequiel Holder and Neil Persaud netted in the 36th and 38th minute respectively.

Likewise, North Georgetown hammered Ann’s Grove 7-0. Gairy Primo tallied four goals in the 11th, 21st, 33rd and 40th minute. Adding goals in the 10th, 14th and 24th minute respectively were Martha Chance, Manwhar Khan and Delon Ray.

Also, Timehri swamped Plaisance 4-0. Esteban Medina registered a double in the 10th and 27th minute while Tyrone Perreira and Jason Williams assisted with goals in the 34th and 37th minute respectively.

 Meanwhile, Mae’s, Craig, Redeemer, St. Agnes, Marian Academy, Mocha and West Ruimveldt also secured wins. The final match between Tucville and St. Stephen’s was abandoned due to a power failure.

The 24-team event, which is in its eighth year, will conclude November 2nd. The respective teams will be divided into six groups of four.

 The top two finishers from each section and the four best third placed teams will advance to the elimination round. Below features the complete results for the  matches.
