A four-wicket haul followed by an unbeaten half century from Kevin Sinclair ensured Rose Hall Town Thunderbolts defeated Police by eight wickets in the Berbice Cricket Board/ Stag Beer 50-overs first-division tournament yesterday.

At their home ground of Area H, Thunderbolts won the toss and inserted the visitors who were bowled out for a paltry 95 in 16.3 overs. In reply, Thunderbolts reached their target of 96-2 in just 12.1 overs.

Paul Tyndall, at the top of the order stroked three boundaries in his quick-fire 19 while Garison Grant top scored with 25 consisting of two fours and two sixes. No other batsmen reached double figures.

Sinclair snatched 4-13 in three overs with his off-break and was supported by seamer, Sylus Tyndall with 3-39. Eon Hooper picked up two wickets while Keith Simpson accounted for the final blow.

In reply, West Indies under-19 selectee, Kevlon Anderson on his birthday was dismissed for 11 as well as Hooper for a duck in the third over by Paul James to see Thunderbolts 24-2. However, Sinclair, who was dropped on 35, smashed eight fours and two sixes in his unbeaten 59 from 32 balls and shared in an unbroken partnership of 72 with Delbert Hicks (13 not out) to see his side home.
