Gold is Money will face-off with Melanie-B while North East La Penitence will battle Back Circle in the semi-final round of the ‘Beat Dem Bad’ Knockout Streetball, following quarterfinal wins on Saturday.
Staged at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue, West Ruimveldt giant Gold is Money battled past Linden unit Silver Bullets 2-1 on penalty kicks, after regulation time ended scoreless.
On the other hand, Melanie-B edged West Demerara outfit 1-0 to earn their place in the final four. Meanwhile, Eats Ruimveldt unit Back Circle dismantled the experienced Broad Street 2-0.
Their impending foe North East La Penitence, squeaked past Tiger Bay by a 2-1 scoreline. Up to press time the semi-final, third place and eventually final was slated to be contested at the same venue.
Winner of the event will collect $200,000. Similarly the second, third and fourth place sides will receive $100,000, $50,000 and $25,000 respectively. Below features the results from the quarterfinal section.
