Three men have been separately fined $5,000 for having a gramme of ganja.
Robin Frazer, Calvin Persaud and Kemol Jennings were charged at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts for marijuana possession.
They were arraigned before Principal Magistrate Faith McGusty, who read the same charge to each of the men. They were each charged with having one gramme of marijuana on September 27th at Mackenzie, Linden.
According to Frazer’s attorney, he was advised not to plead guilty but did the opposite in court on Monday. The magistrate noted that they were probably told of
the penalty the offences attracts, hence the decision to plead guilty.
The men were fined and advised not to put themselves in such a situation again.
