Aliyah Abrams, Guyana’s last hope of earning a medal at the ongoing IAAF World Championships in Doha, Qatar qualified for today’s semifinal in the 400m event.
The USA based Abrams clocked 51.73s, placing fourth in heat four of six on Day four of the 17th edition of the event.
She was the 17th fastest qualifier for the semis which begins at 13:50hrs today. The first three in each heat and the next six fastest runners booked semifinals berths. Abrams will be looking to crack the top eight today for a spot in the finals on Thursday.
Guyana’s other two representatives at the meet, long jumper, Emanuel Archibald and 800m runner, Quamel Prince both failed to get past the first round in their respective
