A Covent Garden man has been fined $15,000 after a city court heard he was seen jumping the fence at Stabroek Market after the market had closed.
Akash Rakesh, 43, of Lot 98 Covent Garden, East Bank Demerara, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts yesterday and pleaded “guilty with explanation” to being at the Stabroek Market at prohibited hours.
The charge was read to him by Magistrate Clive Nurse. It states that Rakesh was found at Stabroek Market during a time when it was closed to the public on September 29th.
