Wales Masters and Club 45 secured wins when the second annual ‘Kick Out Prostate Cancer, Keep Men In The Game’ Awareness Football Festival concluded Sunday.
The one day Masters Football event was staged at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground, Bourda.
In the opening fixture, Club 45 overcame Club 45-B 2-1 while in the feature clash, Wales Masters squeaked past Pele 8-7 on sudden death penalty kicks after the score was knotted 3-3 at the end of regulation time.
According to a release from tournament coordinator and ABSAA member Junior Forrester, the tournament was a success.
Dwayne Butters, founder of the James Butter Prostate Cancer Awareness network addressed the gathering and handed out literature on prostate cancer while some 14 coupons will be distributed for free consultation and examination at the Guyana Cancer Foundation and Cancer Institute of Guyana.
