The 2019 Guyana Hockey Board (GHB), Bounty Paper Towel-Quicker Picker Upper second-division hockey league is set to conclude today at the Saint Stanislaus College Ground.
Six matches are billed for the day, as GCC the Sequal and Saints, who will both be in action, already securing the male and female titles respectively by virtue of the margin of lead they have on the points leader board.
Sequal has produced several box office efforts during this year’s tournament, winning nine of their 11 matches. They are the current points leaders with 28 points followed Saints Savages on 20 and YMCA Old Fort Aces on 18.
Meanwhile, the women’s league is currently being led by Saints who are coasting along on 13 points from five appearances. GBTI GCC (9) and Bingo GCC Spartans (5) trail the points leaders. Saints will look to wrap up the tournament on a winning note and lift the crown when they take on GBTI GCC in what is expected to be an exciting contest. Sequal will face Savages in their final contest.
