Defending champion St. Pius as well as former winners West Ruimveldt, Tucville, Soesdyke and St. Agnes earned their respective quarterfinal berths when the Courts Pee Wee football competition p continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
St. Pius hammered Uitvlugt 5-1. Jamal Fraser led the rout with a brace in the 18th and 39th minute. The other three conversions came via the respective boots of Bryan Brown, Troy Macey and Donovan Welcome in the sixth, eighth and 38th minute.
On the other hand, West Ruimveldt dismissed Enterprise 2-0. Cleon La Rose and Emanuel Phillips scored in the eighth and 11th minute respectively.
Likewise newcomer Soesdyke crushed Craig 3-0. Jermaine Mitchell tallied a double in the 25th and 27th minute while Samuel Tasher opened the scoring in the 11th minute.
For Uitvlugt, an own goal opened their account in the 21st minute. Meanwhile St. Agnes bested Redeemer 2-0. Cleon London and Shaquille Dalrymple scored in the 16th and 38th minute respectively.
Also Tucville edged Marian Academy 1-0 compliments of a Wayne Solomon strike in the 17th minute.
In other results, Genesis edged Maes 2-1 while Timehri battled past St. Stephen 1-0. The respective winners will progress to the quarterfinal section, with the losers battling in the plate section for positions 9-16.
