The annual GTT National Indoor Hockey tournament will get underway this evening at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall. The tournament will conclude on Sunday with the grand finale.
Pepsi Hikers are defending champions in both the male and female categories.
Last year’s finals saw the men’s team sneaking their way past a spirited Old Fort unit 3-2 on the penalty shoot-out to collect the male championship prize while the women’s final between GBTI GCC Tigers and Woodpecker Hikers presented fans with an electrifying showdown, with the latter coming from a goal down to win the women’s title 2-1.
Meanwhile, this evening’s fixtures will see the female defending champs beginning their title defence against Saints in the feature women’s match while Bounty GCC and YMCA Old Fort will clash in the feature men’s contest.
