The Local Government Commission (LGC) has written to the Mayor and City Council requesting a register of the council’s assets, Sherry Jerrick, Town Clerk acting told the council on Monday.
Jerrick informed the council that the correspondence from the LGC was recently received by her office.
She noted that according to the correspondence, the council was being asked to submit the list by October 26th. However, she disclosed that the council would not be able to compile the list in that short time and suggested that the council request an extension.
“I would recommend that the council writes to the LGC and request a one-month extension which will be November 26,” Jerrick said while noting that the council list of assets is extensive.
The matter was not deliberated on during the council’s statutory meeting.
