Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Karen Cummings will represent Guyana at the XVIII Summit of Heads of States and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) scheduled to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan on October 25 and 26.
A release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday said that in line with the Summit’s theme for its general debate, “Upholding the Bandung Principles to ensure concerted and adequate response to the challenges of the contemporary world”, the Government here is fully committed as it participates in NAM’s efforts to maintain peace and security, and global disarmament.
At the NAM Ministerial Meeting held at the recent 74th United Nations General Assembly, the release said that Cummings reiterated Guyana’s commitment to the core principles of the entity, such as the peaceful settlement of disputes, respect for the territorial integrity of States and non-interference in the internal affairs of States.
