KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC – West Indies captain Stafanie Taylor has returned from Australia where she made a significant impact for her new team Adelaide Strikers in her short stint in the Women’s Big Bash.
The world-rated all-rounder turned in a match-winning display for the Strikers in the opening contest last Saturday, claiming three wickets and scoring a crucial 21 against Melbourne Renegades in a clinical six-wicket victory.
Taylor was less impactful in the second match the following day, however, going wicket-less and scoring 12 as the Strikers lost to the Renegades by five wickets in the final over.
The 28-year-old has returned home for the upcoming series against India where the Windies will contest three One-Day Internationals and five Twenty20 Internationals.
All three ODIs will be staged at the Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium in Antigua while the opening two T20 Internationals have been carded for the Darren Sammy Cricket Ground in St Lucia.
The last three T20s are scheduled for the Guyana National Stadium.
Taylor is set to rejoin the team camp in Antigua ahead the series which runs from November 1-20, and is due to return to Australia to continue her stint with the Strikers following the Windies tour.
Taylor is an accomplished right-hander with over 100 matches in both limited overs formats, and also bowls off-spin which has earned her 140 ODI wickets.
