Patentia man dies after LBI crash

A 21-year-old man is now dead and one of his friends was critically injured after the motor car in which they were in crashed into a parked vehicle along the La Bonne Intention (LBI), East Coast Demerara Public Road on Saturday afternoon.

Dead is Keshav Geetram, a resident of Lot 201 Patentia Housing Scheme, West Bank Demerara.

The injured man has been identified as Robin Kawall, 32, of Lusignan, ECD.

They were both transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital where Geetram died while receiving medical attention.

Kawall remains hospitalised. His condition is said to be serious.

Reports are that the accident occurred around 3.30pm.

At the time, Geetram was the driver of motor car PMM 9535.

Investigations, this newspaper understands, revealed that Geetram was proceeding east along the Public Road when he lost control of the car.

As a result, the car began to spin and collided with the rear of motor car PKK 4683 which was parked on the northern side of the said road.

The car continued to spin and collided with another parked vehicle, PTT 8830.

The three cars were severely damaged as a result of the accident.
