Hockey: Spartans overwhelm Old Fort 4-0

Georgetown Cricket Club [GCC] Spartans thumped YMCA Old Fort 4-0 to maintain their unbeaten record in the U21 Girls Division, when the Sunshine Snacks Junior Hockey Championship continued on Friday.

Staged at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue, Abosaide Cadogan bagged a double while Sarah Matthias and Haley Carpenter added one goal apiece.

Continuing in the same section, Saints needled YMCA Old Fort 1-0. Claysia Bobb was the difference as she recorded the fixture’s only conversion.

In the Girls division of the U16 Section, SHC Sensations mauled YMCA Old Fort 5-0. Bobb was the architect of the rout, as she recorded five goals. Also, SHC Supreme downed GCC Herricanes 2-0. Charlia Webb recorded a double.

In the U16 Boys Pool, YMCA Old Fort brushed aside GCC War Dogs 4-0. Shaquan Favourite bagged two strikes while Daniel Woolford and Nkosi Saul scored one goal each.

Also, Joseph Warriors edged War Dogs 1-0 compliments of a Narendra Persaud conversion. Meanwhile, SHC Shockwave downed SHC Silencers 2-0. Shakeem Fausette registered two conversions.

In the lone U21 Boy’s Divisional clash, YMCA Old Fort overcame Saints 4-3. Omar Hopkinson, Donnel Alleyne, Warren Williams and Shaquan Favourite were on target for the victor. Shakeem Fausette, Tiversard Garnett and Baraka Garnett scored one goal each for the loser.
