The police in Region 4 (a) (Agricola-Cummings Lodge) are investigating the murder of a vagrant, whose lifeless body was discovered yesterday morning at the corner of Regent and Light streets, Bourda
The dead man has been identified by the police as `Andrew’ or `Spongebob’, 35, of the Timehri Docks area.
Police spokesman Jairam Ramlakhan yesterday afternoon confirmed the incident.
Investigations, he said, revealed that the man was last seen alive around 10 pm on Sunday at Bourda Market.
The discovery was made around 5.30am. There was an incised wound to his neck, Ramlakhan noted.
At the time, the dead man was only clad in black short pants.
Stabroek News understands that the incident was captured on surveillance footage.
Investigators were up to yesterday afternoon working to identify the suspect.
