A larceny accused, who is already serving a four-month sentence for stealing a phone, on Friday tried to negotiate for a similar sentence if he admitted to a similar crime.
“I am willing to change my plea to guilty if I will get sentenced to four months… I am already serving four months for snatching a phone so another four months will be good for me,” said Faizal Mohammed, 27, when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly on Friday at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
However, his bid was immediately denied. The magistrate told him she would sentence him to more than four months if he changed his plea.
