Man found guilty of Grove wedding house manslaughter

Rajen Dindial

A 12-member jury yesterday found Rajen Dindial guilty of manslaughter in relation to the killing of a man at a Grove wedding house two years ago.

Dindial was found guilty of killing Alston Henry called ‘Boy’ on September 3rd 2017. The jury deliberated for three hours.

The man was found not guilty of murder but the jury unanimously found him guilty of manslaughter.

The state’s case was presented by prosecutor Sarah Martin while attorney-at-law Nigel Hughes represented the accused. Subsequent to the verdict being delivered, Hughes asked that a probation report be presented prior to sentencing.

Dindial is expected to make his next appearance on November 28th, when the probation report is expected to be presented and a sentence handed down. The state’s case is that on the day in question, the accused used a paddle to fatally beat Henry.
