A Goed Bananen Land, East Canje Berbice security guard lost his life yesterday after he was involved in a collision along the Canefield Village, East Canje Berbice Public Road.
Dead is Gurdatt Hemraj, 49, of Lot 20 Goed Bananen Land, while a 22 year old sales representative, who was driving the motor car involved in the collision, was last evening in police custody assisting with the investigation.
According to information gathered, Hemraj was proceeding along the Canefield Public Road on motor cycle, CJ 8679, when the collision involving motor car, PLL 8511, which was being driven by Joseph Samaroo, who was proceeding across the public road.
At the time of the collision, the driver of the motor car was reportedly attempting to enter a car workshop located on the public road. Stabroek News was told that Hemraj, who regained consciousness while receiving treatment yesterday, later succumbed at the health institution.
