The Rupununi Music and Arts Festival comes to Georgetown and the Theatre Guild will play host. Billed for November 22 and 23, the festival, dubbed GT2, will captivate audiences with music, dance, spoken word, comedy, and art and craft.
According to the festival’s website, this is the fifth year of the festival and its second Georgetown Connection and a mix of local and international artistes will entertain. From St Lucia comes Reggae artiste Semi and band, from Trinidad & Tobago, violinist David Frank and Marva Newton and Kairi Kaiso, from the UK and Ukraine Rob Rosa and Iryna Muha, from Suriname, MAYA. Local artistes expected to appear include Young Bill Rogers, Gavin Mendonca and Marlon ‘Chucky’ Adams, Chow Pow, Vanilla, the Calibro Band, the Mighty Pakuri, Ras Camo, Ol’ Man Papi and Janey Gal, Braddar, Buxton Fusion, Herbie Marshall, Ovid Williams and Selector Shaw.
