A man was on Wednesday freed of two drug trafficking charges after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) advised that they be dismissed.
David Simmons, who had been charged in February of this year, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts on Wednesday, when he was informed that the two charges against him were being dismissed.
The charges alleged that on September 26th, 2019, at Sussex Street, Charlestown, Simmons had in his possession two grammes of cannabis and two grammes of ecstasy pills for the purpose of trafficking. He had denied the charges and was released on bail after the charges were first read to him.
