The Preliminary Inquiry (PI) into the charge against the accused in the murder of Patrick Fraser, known as ‘White Boy,’ commenced yesterday with the testimony of six witnesses.
Three of the six witnesses who took the stand yesterday were close relatives of Fraser, who was shot dead in May, while the remainder were police ranks who assisted with the investigation of the murder.
Paul Fraser, the deceased man’s father, as well as Lydia Fraser, his aunt, and Peter Fraser, his grandfather, in addition to Devon Bowlin, Randell Chapman and a third officer all testified.
Two men, Shemar Moore and Kevin Rose, are jointly charged with the murder. The joint charge states that on May 9th, at Bagotstown, East Bank Demerara, in the company of others, they murdered Fraser, during the course or furtherance of a robbery. Neither of the two accused was required to plead to the indictable charge and have since been on remand.
Fraser was shot two times—to one of his legs and to his abdomen—around 8.30 pm on May 9th at an abandoned property.
The police prosecutor yesterday indicated to the court that he has five witnesses remaining. The PI will continue on December 27th.
