A Grove, East Bank Demerara (EBD) mechanic was yesterday taken before a city court on a charge of attempted murder and was remanded to prison.
It is alleged that Feraz Narine on November 21st at Diamond, EBD, wounded Teon Archer with intent to commit murder.
Narine, 36, of 243 Second Street, Grove, EBD, was not required to plead to the indictable charge when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
According to Police Prosecutor Neville Jeffers, the accused and the virtual complainant were having a physical confrontation when Narine pulled out a knife and stabbed Archer. Archer was immediately rushed to the Diamond Hospital but later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital and was admitted in a critical condition.
Narine was later arrested and charged. After listening to the facts, Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan remanded Narine to prison until December 10th for report on the medical which is still outstanding.
