A gold miner, who police say was busted at the Kingston Wharf with a quantity of cannabis stashed inside a music set, was remanded to prison by a city magistrate yesterday.
Orin Liverpool, a 26-year-old father of four, of Kumaka, Mabaruma sub-region, appeared before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly and pleaded not guilty to the charge that on November 29th, 2019, at the Transport and Harbours Wharf, at Kingston, he had 1,238 grammes (equivalent to 2.7 pounds) of cannabis in his possession for trafficking.
According to the prosecution, police ranks, acting on information, went to the Transport and Harbours Wharf, at Kingston, where they met Liverpool, who had a large music set in his possession. The ranks subsequently conducted a search on him and the music set and they found 12 parcels of cannabis, which were wrapped in transparent plastic, inside of the music set.
