Dear Editor,
Many have noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs appears to be in disarray and are puzzled by the political motive behind staff changes especially since general elections are due in less than three months.
But more puzzling is that these changes have taken place during the season of joy and goodwill, spoiling the season for many, including the President’s supporters and constituents.
I suppose one day we will find out the President’s reason for spreading sadness rather than joy. Presenting the Ministry and its hard working officers with a basket of Christmas cruelty at this time violates the very notion of Christian charity.
But the President has defined himself as a “prudent and wise” leader and our President must be an honourable man.
Yours faithfully,
Professor Kean Gibson
